The Gallocanta lagoon is in the middle of the Iberian Mountain Range, on a plateau 1,000 metres above sea level. It’s in Aragon and proof that there’s more to Spain than just the coast.the surrounding fields. On the shores of the lake you can see waders such as Kentish plover, Grey Plover, and Greenshank, Black-necked Grebe, Little Ringed Plover, Harriers, Tern and Dotterel and many more. Hen Harriers and Golden Eagles also visit. From January to March thousands of cranes visit in the evening.
Ask at the huge visitor Centre for information. Ideal for tourists and birdwatchers alike.
